Good afternoon and happy Friday.  I hope everyone had a good week.

Please take a peak at the Homework Update.  We have several assignments due next week and we don't want to fall behind.  Also, please look at the Important Dates for October.  Starting on Monday, raffle tickets will be sold at recess for 10 different gift baskets and matching pumpkins.  All money raised is going to the United Way.

Our pumpkin carving contest is also starting on Monday.  Please spend time this weekend creating your pumpkin masterpiece and bring it to school to show off any day from Monday to Thursday.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone.

The first month of school is already over!  That was fast.  Please take a  moment to look at the Important Dates for October.  There are several and I don't want anyone to miss anything.

Our QSP magazine drive is almost finished.  This is your last weekend to get those magazine orders in and earn some foxes or Dairy Queen gift cards.  We will be having the windup assembly on Monday at 3:00 pm.  Let's finish strong!

There are a few students who have already fallen behind in Health and/or ELA.  Please use this weekend of very little homework to catch up on those assignments.  If your memory needs a refresh, I'm looking for the Time Capsule Writing Assignment, the questions to "The Crags Beneath Malpelo Island", and the Personal Standards Collage.  Let's get caught up before new assignments get handed out and overwhelm us.

Thanks for a fabulous beginning to the school year.  September was great!

Good evening everyone.  It's Friday!!!!

Please keep your eye on the Homework Updates and Dates to Remember.  Yesterday, an important note about Mr. MacKenzie's pancake breakfast went home.  Please complete and return ASAP so we know how many people to prepare for.  I'm still waiting for a few more lunch room forms and media release forms to be handed in.  Please return these forms by Monday so that we can take care of all filing, etc.

That's all for now.  A Happy Birthday to a couple of our class members and I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend.

The Terry Fox walk is happening on Thursday, after we have a visit from Fred Fox, Terry Fox's brother.  Remember to bring your toonies for Terry.  Our school goal is $1,000.00.

Keep working on selling those magazines!!!

Have a fabulous day.

Wow - we did it!  We made it through our first full week of school.  Who knew five days could hold so much?  Thank you to everyone who made it out to our Back to School Barbecue and Meet the Teacher night.  It was great to see so many familiar faces and meet some new families as well.  If you were unable to come by, please drop in to see me one of these days and pick up the Parent Portal access information.

The Grade sevens had fun learning to canoe this week.  Below are some pictures of their experience:

They appeared to be having a great time.  Next up - canoeing at Wascana Lake - where tipping the canoe is NOT encouraged!!!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone.  See you on Monday.
