Dear Parents:
As we complete our holocaust unit in E.L.A., we would like
to show the movie “Schindler’s List”. The movie fits nicely as a culminating
activity to the Literature Circles we have studied. We will be watching the movie Friday,
February 17th, 2017.
Schindlers List 14-A
Arguably Steven Spielberg’s masterpiece, this gripping
adaptation of Thomas Keneally’s novel tells a story of Oscar Schindler
(Neeson), a German industrialist who saved upward of 1,100 Jews from the Nazi
death camps by employing them in his factory during the war. This film won the
Academy Award for Best Picture in 1993.
The movie has some nudity, which would be
fast-forwarded. There are some graphic
scenes of WWII and life in concentration camps.
The students must bring this form back with a parent
signature giving approval to watch this movie.
If for any reason you would not want to let your son/daughter watch this
movie, simply state this below. An
alternate activity will be provided for students not watching the movie. If you have any questions/concerns, feel free
to call the school at 306-791-8585.
Sincerely,
Kevin Yeske
