7/8 Arts Education
This year our Gr. 7/8 classes will have the opportunity to build, paint, and learn to play northern spirit flutes.  Through this project, our students will gain a greater awareness and understanding of indigenous art and culture.   They are really excited about this project and anxious to get started!  Please go to school cash on-line to purchase an unassembled flute for your child by this Wednesday, February 28.  I will send out the order once all payments are complete.  The cost per flute is $15.50.
On another note, we are excited to host Beau Dixon this coming Thursday at 9 AM In the gym.  Beau is an award-winning playwright, actor, and musician from Ontario.  He will present his play, “Beneath Springhill:  The Maurice Ruddick Story” before leading a workshop with some of our students.  I would like to thank the Canadian Playwright’s Guild for giving us a grant for event!  Families are welcome to attend.
Thanks,
Mrs. Reschny

Hello everyone.

I guess if you're checking my blog while you're on holidays that means you miss me already, right?  Of course!!!!  I have a couple of reminders:
1. Spend some time working on your Heritage Fair project during the break.  Once you're back to school we will begin working on speeches;
2. Try to spend some time with your groups from Health class to get those commercials ready.

If you're going anywhere, have a safe and fabulous trip.  I know I might take an exciting trip to Walmart - woohoo!  Have a relaxing week off everyone.

Hello everyone.

Remember to bring your loonies to guess how many candies are in the jar.  All money raised goes towards our water station fundraiser.  Speaking of which, we are overdue with our Read-a-thon pledges.  Please bring your pledge sheets, money and reading sheets in tomorrow.

Tomorrow is Red/White/Pink day - come dressed for the occasion.  If you are participating in our Valentine's Card exchange - bring one for everyone.  That's why I handed you the class list.  Treats are welcome as well but remember that they must be nut-free.

Have a great evening everyone and I'll see you tomorrow.

Sad news . . . tomorrow's ski trip has been cancelled again, due to the extremely cold weather.  We are working on finding another, hopefully warmer, day that works.  We will keep everyone posted.  Please come tomorrow, prepared for a normal Day 4.

Tuesday, February 6, 2018

Good afternoon everyone.  Our SCC is counting our pledges on Thursday so please bring in your pledge sheets for the Read-a-Thon, tomorrow and Thursday.

Keep an eye on the homework updates and dates to remember.  Have a great evening everyone.
